{"id":99,"date":"2012-02-10T21:18:05","date_gmt":"2012-02-10T21:18:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.giovannigualdi.com\/wordpress\/?page_id=99"},"modified":"2012-02-14T11:02:03","modified_gmt":"2012-02-14T11:02:03","slug":"people-analysis-for-safety-on-working-places","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.giovannigualdi.com\/?page_id=99","title":{"rendered":"People Analysis for Safety on Working Places"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2008\/2009 I managed and worked on an applied research project (funded by Regione Emilia Romagna (PRIN project), ImageLab, and Bridge 129 S.p.a.), focused on monitoring the safety of workers in construction sites, specifically <span style=\"color: #993300;\">addressing the problem of detecting in an automatic manner the workers that are not wearing the hard hat<\/span> (i.e. the protective helmet).<\/p>\n<p>The goal was two fold: first to provide a useful tool for <span style=\"color: #993300;\">reducing the bad habit<\/span> to go bare-head in construction sites, second <span style=\"color: #993300;\">to reduce the cost of insurances <\/span>covering construction site hazards.<\/p>\n<p>The project yielded a very good application release candidate, devised to work with high resolution PTZ cameras patrolling the whole construction site. Have a look to these demo videos: the red box around the head means detection of bare-head.
